The Property Franchise REMAX Ireland, announced that the number of transactions in the property sector in Ireland has dramatically decreased over the last 12 months.
The message from REMAX is, that confidence needs to be put back in the economy and calls on the country's banks to help us to do this by increasing liquidity in order for businesses to survive in these difficult times. Evidence of the huge decline in spending is clear across all industry sectors and is not limited to us in the property market, says Mark Campbell, regional director of REMAX Ireland.
Each of our offices is independently owned and operated. In order to improve efficiencies through these challenging times, some of our offices have merged with neighbouring REMAX franchisees resulting in improved services and economies of scale. REMAX is calling out to smaller independent property businesses in Ireland to consider the REMAX model as a viable option for them.
The majority of independent property businesses are struggling with overheads and we are asking them at this time to consider the REMAX alternative, added Mark Campbell. This will give them an opportunity to operate on a lower cost base, access to support from our network of offices across the country and the security of the number one real estate company in the world. In conclusion Mark Campbell commented, The property sector in 2006 experienced what can only be described as an abnormal market, today we are experiencing the other end of that same scale.
Now that we are almost at the end of what must be seen as the most challenging year in modern Irish real estate history, REMAX continues to maintain market share in what is now a very different market. Research into the market and leading industry experts, predict the market will pickup in 2009, but are expecting this to be at lower values and volumes than previously experienced.
In spite of the research there are some excellent deals to be had right now so keep looking, we do have that perfect home for you, he concluded. REMAX has offices across the 32 counties and is a leading estate agency in Ireland with 40 offices and 171 affiliates.
