Munster Tool Co Franchise – Taking Advantage of the Downturn At a time when many companies in the automotive industry are feeling the strain of the economic downturn, Cork based Munster Tool Co are taking a much more positive approach to the coming months, and rightly so. Recently we spoke to company directors Donal Healy and Martin McMahon, and they explained to us why Munster Tool Co will only get stronger in 2009.

“It is evident that garages are shutting down, but what happens when they shut? The mechanics that have lost their jobs go and set up smaller garages themselves or they begin to work from home. This means they will need to buy tools to set up these smaller businesses”, explains Martin. “It has also become clear that new car sales are down substantially this January compared to last January, not to mention the fact that car sales were down nearly 20% in 2008, this means there are more older cars being kept on the road.

This then leads to more maintenance and repair.” Donal then goes on to explain that due to people having a greater focus on cost, independent dealers are busier than ever. These dealers are also looking at cost reductions, so workshops need the right tools to do the jobs faster, safer and more efficiently. All these factors are good news for Munster Tool Co and their network of franchisees.
