Sliderobes is all set to open a brand new fitted bedroom furniture showroom in Derry in early January. The Belfast based company, which has more than 20 showrooms across the UK and Ireland, is reporting that despite the economic downturn, business is holding up well in their sector. On 8th January, the spacious new showroom opens on Bay Road beside the Ramada Da Vincis Hotel relocating from premises in Springfield Road, where it has had a presence for the past nine years.
Trish McGookin, general manager of the new Derry showroom, says that the effect of the credit crunch has been to focus attention onto home improvements. Where people can no longer move house, they are looking at ways to optimise the space that they have. Sliderobes is ideally positioned in this marketplace,” she said. We create bespoke storage solutions, ideal for bedrooms, living areas or indeed any other room in the house, which optimises all available space. It enables people who are tight on space in their home to make the most of what they have, in a cost effective and very stylish way. We employ skilled craftsmen in our workshops, who create each Sliderobe individually to meet customers particular requirements, she added.
Visitors to the new Bay Road showroom on the 9th, 10th and 11th of January will have the opportunity to enter a free draw to win a fabulous Sliderobe, valued at 2000 pounds. All visitors can take away a voucher worth 250 pounds, against an order placed in the first few months of opening. To celebrate their move, Sliderobes will be presenting a new laptop computer to the Macmillan Welfare Benefits Team based in Altnagelvin Hospital. The Macmillan Welfare Scheme provides information and specialist advice on benefits, critical life insurance, debt management, prescription charges, travel expenses and heating costs to cancer patients and their families within the Western Health and Social Care Trust The laptop will be presented by Sliderobes managing director, Richard McMullan, to Macmillan Welfare Service Manager fundraiser, Michelle Donnelly, at midday on Thursday 8th January in a special ribbon cutting event being held at the showroom. Sliderobes was established in Ireland over 25 years ago, and today has showrooms across Ireland, England and Scotland.
