Pristine.ie Franchise
Franchising in my opinion is the best way to start your own business as you have a structure in place while you learn the ropes of running your own business.

Name: Piers White

Company Name: Pristine.ie

Location: Churchtown

Length of time in operation: 2 years

Professional background before becoming a franchisee: Data Analyst

Why did you become involved in franchising:

Franchising in my opinion is the best way to start your own business as you have a structure in place while you learn the ropes of running your own business.

Why did you choose this franchise business:

I felt there was a gap in the market for this service and also the risk was reduced by the relatively low initial franchise fee.

How did you research the company before setting up
:

I went to the franchise exhibition in the RDS having previously seen the company on a franchise website and then visited the UK office on at least 3 occasions.

How did the master franchise help you starting a business in Ireland
:

Initially I went on an intensive 5 day training course with 3 development days over 90 the next  days.

My first van was filled with equipment and a start up pack as well as providing letter heads, initial advertising. A computer with specialised business model software to followed in time.

Does the master franchise continue to help you on an ongoing basis:

Yes very much so, and the nice thing is you can get as much or as little help as is needed

What difficulties did you face starting off
:

I found staff recruitment difficult as I had no prior experience in this area.

I needed to move premises after 6 months which meant change of telephone, letter heading and lots of hassle!

How did you overcome these difficulties:

I followed the pristine.ie unique recruitment process and explored different avenues for advertising vacancies. FAS, non-national newspapers and local shops are a great source for finding applicants.

As for moving premise I just got on with it and said to myself to learn from the experience.

What advice would you give to others who have just started franchising or are looking for a franchise business in Ireland:

The business has been successful because it has followed a certain model. Everyone likes to put their own stamp on a business but do not change too much from the model or you will fail.

Starting a business can be daunting but do not take all aspects of a business personally, its just business! Also think ahead, do not attempt to move premises too early, it creates a lot of headaches and disruption.
