Introduced to the Irish market at the Irish Franchise Association's EXPO in February, Car Medic has awarded its first four franchises in the following areas Dublin (Dun-Laoghaire Rathdown), Wexford, Offaly and Limerick City. The business handles interior and exterior repairs to motor vehicles, claiming savings of up to 70% on bodyshop charges. The work is carried out in the customer's own garage or driveway.

In spite of a rocky climate worldwide and a dreary outlook across many businesses, Car Medic has become the car industry's fastest-growing franchise-with more than 350 franchisees across the UK.

The franchise is being rolled out here under a master license agreement by Paul Callan, a sales and marketing specialist.

Says Paul: "The response from EXPO was very encouraging. Over the two days of the exhibition we recorded more than 60 leads. We've sold four franchises already and there are several others in the pipeline. Our objective is to emulate the success of Car Medic in the UK and develop the franchise throughout Ireland."

He added: "Minor vehicle damage like dents, scuffs and scratches to panels, bumpers, wheel arches, mirrors and alloy wheels are inevitable in today's driving conditions.

"Until now, using conventional methods, even the smallest repair has been expensive and time-consuming - the whole panel had to be repainted in a specialist body repair shop, with the vehicle out of use for several days. With Car Medic, we take the body shop to the customer, delivering high quality at a low price."
