Butlers Chocolate franchise announced its profits have jumped by 17 per cent to more than €2.1million in last year. Future Irish growth was more likely to be based on an expanded product range rather than franchising cafes. Last year the company agreed a franchise deal to open its first store outside Ireland, in New Zealand.  Further expansion should see franchise agreements soon signed in the US and European Territories.

In November 1998 the first Butlers Chocolate Café opened its doors on Wicklow St, Dublin. Since then a further eight cafés have opened, four more in the city centre, one at Dublin Airport, Dundrum Town Centre, Heuston Station Dublin and Oliver Plunkett Street, Cork City.

Butlers Chocolate Cafés concept was the combination of coffee drinking at its best, and the enjoyment of premium quality handmade chocolates. Butlers Chocolate Cafés serve a full range of coffee drinks, including lattes, cappuccinos, and mochas.
