Clothing Franchise Promod is one of Frances largest and most successful high street fashion
franchise opportunities and is expanding into Ireland later this year. The brands
first Irish franchise will be located in the Athlone shopping centre and
a second franchise is due to open in Dublin before December. Promod plans to
launch a roll-out of up to 25 franchised outlets over the next three years in
Ireland which could intenisfy the already competitive retail franchise market.
While the womens clothing franchise directly controls most of its
European stores, its Irish fashion business has been franchised out to three
Dublin-based businessmen: John Smith, Sunil Shah and David Jones are the
co-owners of the Tommy Hilfiger fashion franchise in Ireland and are thought to
be investing over €6 million in the roll-out of the Promod fashion franchise
label.
A retail franchise expert, says the three business partners were wary
of taking a risk with an expensive central store without having an idea of how
the name would perform in the Irish market.
The company, employs 3,000
people and has more than 510 stores in over 20 countries, worldwide.
