Robeks Corporation, a premium fruit smoothie and healthy eats national franchisor, opened its first international store in downtown Dublin, Ireland. The new location is colorfully situated at 9A Lord Edward St., just two blocks from the medieval citadel, Dublin Castle, site of countless historical invasions and storied ghostly souls wandering the neighborhood. Franchisee Thomas Jones carried out extensive research of juice bars in the United States and Australia in advance of signing a 10year license agreement with Robeks to develop stores throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland. This first location, a 400 square foot high street store, festivities are scheduled shortly. Jones claims he arrives in the early morning hours to find blenders abuzz and unusual smoothie concoctions scattered about the store. Robeks Ireland serves a menu similar to Robeks 140 plus U.S. stores premium, made to order smoothies, wraps salads, wheatgrass and power muffins, with the added difference of scones and hot green tea, along with pure 100 percent juices, that appeal to the local palate. Already, visitors have dubbed favorites, Berry Brilliance and Banzai Blueberry.

Smoothies are not new to Irish tastes, as there has been a focus on health and wellness in Ireland for some time. We are pleased consumers can now sample an authentic Robeks smoothie with its distinctive creamy texture, not unlike the frothy tops of Irelands famous ales. While Dublin, Ireland is our first venture into Europe, we expect it will be the first of many in the region. Of course, were aggressively pursuing our 500 store target right here in America.
